A tale of two states.

CALIFORNIA A state official (Nancy Pelosi) is jogging with her dog along a nature trail.  A coyote jumps out and attacks the Nancy’s dog, then bites Nancy. Nancy starts to intervene, but decides she should stop because the coyote is only doing what is natural. She calls animal control. Updated to OSX El Capitan, got El-Crappo result

After upgrading to El Capitan today, outlook 2011 crashes on start with the “Spinning Wheel of Death” beach-ball… Microsoft, in their infinite wisdom, acknowledges the issue and recommends “Running Outlook 2011 on an earlier version of OSX” – which I found most helpful. https://support.microsoft.com/kb/3098396 However… I found that if I disabled my Exchange account, and only used the pop account – it worked. Amazon Echo

I bought and installed Amazon’s new “Echo” device and wired it all up to control various things in my home via voice commands. It was a snap to control the WeMo and HUE devices I had installed, and now, having a single spot to turn virtually ANYTHING on and off in my home by voice command is a reality. New Website. New Design. New Mission.

As you all know, I’m a big fan of arduinos. I’ve used them for projects ranging from all types of robots, to lighting effects, to remote cameras, to a fully automated wireless remote in my home, and just about everything in between! My old blog site suffered an inglorious death, and that gives me the opportunity to bring some fresh new ideas for your enjoyment. Stay tuned as I bring more Arduino programs, circuits, and projects to you. In my next post I’ll discuss using your arduino and a couple bucks worth of parts to create a trickle charger powered by a sun-tracking...
